My kids, like a lot of young adults, are obsessed with hitting their protein goals — and after reading this piece in The Verge, I'm thinking maybe a gentle reality check is in order. The short answer: protein is great, but the influencer-driven "proteinmaxxing" trend is pushing people toward 200g a day, protein-washed junk food, and anxiety over every gram — when most of us (kids included) are already getting enough. As always, the boring advice wins: eat balanced, don't forget your vegetables, and maybe put down the protein Pop-Tart.
